Cílem příspěvku je představit výsledky výzkumu, který mapoval aktuální vzdělávací potřeby vychovatelů v dětském domově. Za pomoci kvalitativního výzkumného designu jsme zjišťovali, jak vychovatelé hodnotí naplňování svých vzdělávacích potřeb. Zjistili jsme, že se setkávají při výkonu své profese s požadavky, na které nebyli dostatečně připraveni. Největší deficity jsme zaznamenali v problematice vzdělání v inkluzivní problematice, v otázkách závislostního chování a také v oblasti ICT. Vychovatelé zdůraznili klíčovou roli kvalitního dalšího vzdělávání. Na základě našich výsledků bude možné upravit přípravu a vzdělávání vychovatelů tak, aby mohli kvalitněji vykonávat jejich náročnou profesi.

The aim of this paper is to present the results of a research that mapped the current educational needs of educators in a children's home. Using a qualitative research design, we investigated how educators assess the fulfillment of their educational needs. We found that they encountered demands in their profession for which they were not adequately prepared. We observed the greatest deficits in education on inclusion issues, addictive behaviour issues and also in ICT. Educators stressed the key role of quality continuing education. Based on our results, it will be possible to adjust the training and education of educators so that they can perform their demanding profession better.
