The article presents insights related to the issue of social exclusion from the perspective of social workers working in socially excluded localities in the Czech Republic. We consider cultural-historical aspects, socio-economic, political and ethical factors as the main aspects of this issue. Nowadays, however, not only socially disadvantaged individuals are at risk of social exclusion, but also a significant part of the majority population due to economic or political reasons. The exploratory study provides findings from interviews with social workers, with the main aim of obtaining reflections on the performance of the profession by social workers working in socially excluded localities and reflecting on the needs and problems of these specific areas.
