The pandemic has accelerated the adoption of digital media in the home. It allowed consumers to watch movies and TV shows on multiple screens. Many believe that this trend is already starting to take hold. Digital platforms such as video-on-demand and streaming video have become more prevalent due to the global shutdowns. The digital entertainment industry continued to grow in 2020 as the sector’s revenue reached $61.8 billion. Digital media has contributed over 75% of the total revenue for the home and mobile entertainment industry. There were also over a billion online video subscribers at the end of 2019. One of the organization’s main goals is to inspire innovators and industry leaders to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Members can connect with the UN through the Media Compact and gain a deeper understanding of the goals. Due to the outbreak, much digital entertainment was made for the tourism and hospitality industry. This chapter aims to provide a perspective on the pandemic’s impact on the digital entertainment industry. It also explores the various steps that the industry can take to revive its declining business.
