Abstract
In the original language
This chapter deals with the issue of applying the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method, when examining the efficiency of selected public services provided by municipalities. It focuses on typical services provided by most municipalities, such as the operation of local libraries and primary schools. It describes the methodological basis for calculating the efficiency of municipalities divided into smaller, more homogeneous groups. It then shows the practical results of the efficiency calculation—the mean values achieved in the categories examined and the selected groups of municipalities in the context of the whole set. The method of creation and operation of the software application created for the purpose of DEA calculation is then described.
