Autorita je pojem, který můžeme charakterizovat např. jako všeobecně a přirozeně respektovanou vážnost, vlivnost nebo význam nejen jedince, ale i instituce nebo vynikajícího odborníka v daném oboru (toliko slovník). Její kořeny nejspíše spadají již do prvobytně pospolné společnosti, kdy osobní autorita sehrávala svou roli v míře rozsahu vlivu a práv na rozhodování a organizaci společného života.

The authority is a concept that can be characterized as naturally and universally respected seriousness, signifi cance or infl uence not only of individuals but also institutions and a top expert in the fi eld (so says the dictionary). Its roots probably fall back to the primitive (communal) society, where personal authority played a role in the magnitude and extent of rights in decision making and organization of the common life.
