The article provides a thorough theoretical analysis of the key issues, challenges and needs of social service workers caring for people living with dementia. The text focuses on demographic changes in Europe that are increasing the proportion of older people in the population and thus the number of clients requiring demanding care. The main themes of the text are the importance of support mechanisms such as supervision, professional development, working conditions and the prevention of burnout. Článek poskytuje důkladnou teoretickou analýzu klíčových problémů, výzev a potřeb pracovníků sociálních služeb pečujících o lidi s demencí. Text se zaměřuje na demografické změny v Evropě, které zvyšují podíl starších lidí v populaci a tím i počet klientů vyžadujících náročnou péči. Hlavními tématy textu jsou význam podpůrných mechanismů jako supervize, profesní rozvoj, pracovní podmínky a prevence syndromu vyhoření. Článek také pracuje s tématy, jako jsou školicí programy, moderní technologie a organizační kultura podporující týmovou práci a duševní zdraví pracovníků. Důraz je kladen na vytváření systémových opatření ke zlepšení pracovního prostředí vedoucích ke kvalitnější péči a motivaci zaměstnanců.
