The paper deals with the issue of current propaganda, disinformation and methods of psychological and information warfare in a globalized world. Information is not only a source of money, but also a very powerful weapon. The paper explains the essence of misinformation and provides definitions from the point of view of Anglo-Saxon culture, which differ from the classical Slavic concept. Furthermore, the terms propaganda (black, white, gray), manipulation, information environment, strategic communication (special information and psychological operations) are defined in the context of methods of modern warfare. During the analysis of the current situation, a search of Czech, Slovak, English and Russian literature was performed. The overall concept of the analysis is based on the reality and specifics of the Russian-Ukrainian context, which unfolds in the military, political, diplomatic, economic, social, etc., and also recalls specific methods of information struggle, which remain hidden from many.
