The labor market of the 21st century contains truly formidable challenges that are characterized by opportunities for innovation and progress (Industry 4.0, employment of foreigners, artificial intelligence), for this reason the requirements for personnel departments and specialists in all areas of personnel management are also changing. The situation in the area of requirements in the field of personnel management is turbulent and dynamic, a number of threats and risks have a new character, they mix political, religious, ethnic, cultural, environmental and socio-economic challenges, and to solve them there is a need to educate real professionals who will be able to navigate the dynamically changing environment of the labor market. The professionally focused bachelor's study program Personnel Management is designed to enable students to acquire a comprehensive set of knowledge, skills and competences in the field of personnel management supplemented with knowledge of basic social sciences, covering the basics of sociology, psychology, economics, management with an emphasis on work and organization. At the same time, students will also develop general, i.e. transferable, skills that are in high demand by future employers. Thus, the Personnel Management study program fully corresponds to the long-term goals of the school and at the same time meets the current needs of the labor market, manifested in the long-term increasing demand for specialists in the field of personnel management. The main goal of the program is for the graduates of the program to obtain a solid and high-quality education in all basic aspects of personnel work and to acquire basic practical skills in the field of personnel management in such a way as to cover the requirements placed on these positions by the labor market, which will make it possible to find employment in positions where knowledge of personnel work methods is a necessary advantage. The ambition is also to prepare graduates for subsequent master's studies in the field of personnel management and related fields.

  • Learning Outcomes

    After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:

    • Apply advanced research methods in a selected area of economics and management and implement a research project using relevant methodology.
    • Understand traditional and modern approaches and methods of personnel management in the Czech and international context.
    • Understand the psychological and sociological aspects of HR work in individuals, teams and organisations.
    • Understand the analysis of HR data and the use of information technology in HR practice.
    • Know the basics of research methodology and the theory of quantitative and qualitative data collection and processing.
    • Identify the staffing needs of the organization and the development needs of individuals and teams in a given work environment.
    • Find appropriate HR methods, procedures and models and apply them in a specific work environment.
    • Evaluate existing HR processes, systems and resources in terms of further development of the organisation and propose necessary changes.
    • Create a set of positive changes affecting company culture, safe environment and mental health of employees.
    • Apply the principles of research in a selected personnel area and implement a research project using relevant methodology.
  • Occupational Profiles of Graduates

    The learning outcomes, especially the subjects of the profiling basis and the basic theoretical subjects, enable graduates of the Bachelor's program in Personnel Management to find employment, especially in Human Resources and the field of human resources management, in the following positions: a) Human Resources (ensures all personnel agenda in the organization, especially in smaller organizations), b) Human Resources specialist (ensures the management of the personnel agenda, strategic development of education and solves the issue of labor relations, processes the personnel agenda), c) HR business partner (job position for which HR processes are managed as an integral part of company management, cooperates with company management in solving strategic issues , is responsible for compliance with the rules of the company culture, supports its adoption by all company employees), d) HR generalist (is in charge of organizational planning, identification of recruitment needs, development and training of employees), e) can also work in the positions of personnel agencies, training companies and consulting companies providing personnel consultancy (junior positions) as well as in helping professions, in state administration, in education (personnel and study departments), in the field of career counseling, in non-profit organizations and in other areas that are significantly related to increasing the efficiency of human activity . Completion of the bachelor's study program in Personnel Management entitles you to work in personnel in organizations and at the same time creates the prerequisites to apply for a follow-up master's degree in personnel management at universities that offer this study and thus develop your personnel education, i.e. obtain a master's degree, a university qualification that is perceived along with acquired professional experience as an important point for other job positions.

  • Rules and Conditions for the Creation of a Study Plan

    The essence of the study program consists of subjects profiling the basis of the study program (Organizational Management, Personnel Work Methods, Human Resource Management, Case studies from personnel studies, Economic context of employment, Current issues of personnel management) and basic theoretical subjects profiling the basis of the study program (Introduction to personnel management: human and organization, Fundamentals of economics). The content of these subjects is reflected in the content of parts of the state final exam. Other compulsory subjects of the study program develop specific requirements for students' knowledge and competences in accordance with the study objectives and the profile of the graduate. Compulsory subjects also include a set of subjects that are oriented towards methodological procedures applied in independent scientific and professional work and the processing of professional texts. In the first year, it is the subject Basics of professional work, which is focused on working with sources, forms of text processing and citation, possibilities of critical processing of literary research related to the solved problem. This subject is followed in the fourth semester by the subject Methodology of professional work, where students learn to formulate research questions in relation to the set goals of the work, the choice of appropriate methodological approaches (procedures) to process research tasks and ways of recording their own solution to a research task. The Bachelor's Seminar and Bachelor's Thesis courses, in which students work under the guidance of their assigned thesis supervisors, are focused on applying an individual approach to students, in the form of consultations on the topic being addressed. The condition for granting credit is regular consultation with the thesis supervisor during the processing of the bachelor's thesis and its continuous preparation. This procedure enables theses supervisors to direct and control at key points the student's progress while working on the final thesis and to monitor the process of its creation from its inception with an emphasis on professional quality and academic integrity.     Elective subjects are chosen by students from other subjects outside the standard study plan taught at AMBIS University, a.s. At any time, the student can consult the study advisor, the guarantor of the study program, or the supervisor of the bachelor's thesis about the choice of these subjects so that the chosen subjects fit as well as possible into his study portfolio or expected professional profile and enable him to penetrate more deeply into the area in which processes his bachelor's thesis, possibly in areas that place the topic of the bachelor's thesis in a wider context.

  • Access to Further Studies

    The Bachelor's degree in Personnel Management can be followed up by the study of the follow-up Master's degree programmes in Economics and Business Management and Management and Management in Public Administration accredited at AMBIS Vysoká škola, a.s. It is also assumed that there will be a continuation of the follow-up master's studies of similarly designed study programmes.
