Parts of the final state examination and its content
The state examination consists of two parts/rounds and the defence of the final qualification thesis:
1. International Security Studies (Introduction to Security Studies, Global Security Threats, Armed Conflict and its Resolution, Violent Non-State Actors in International Politics)
2. Political Science (Foundations of Political Science, International Relations and International Organizations)
3. Defence of the final qualification thesis

Effectiveness of the security system and crisis management - large-scale migration waves, pandemics, etc. Prevention and resolution of conflicts in international relations. Substance abuse risks and drug trafficking in EU countries. Securitisation and desecuritisation: social construction and deconstruction of threats. Positive and negative effects of migration: threat or risk? Proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (selected cases). Terrorism, its manifestations and actors in the context of international security. Religious and political extremism and radicalism and international security. Regulation of violent non-state actors in the international system: problems and prospects. Geopolitical dimensions of energy and resource policy/security.
